At the 2026 China Computing Power Conference held in Langfang, Hebei Province from September 11th to 13th, YOFC (Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Ltd.) announced a groundbreaking achievement in optical fiber technology. During the “2026 Computing Power Innovation and Release” session, the company officially unveiled its advanced anti-resonant hollow-core fiber, which has achieved a new global benchmark for transmission loss, registering an unprecedented 0.032 dB/km.

A New Era for Data Transmission

This breakthrough signifies a major leap forward in the field of optical communications, promising significantly enhanced performance for data-intensive applications. Lower transmission loss means that data signals can travel longer distances with less degradation, reducing the need for signal amplification and leading to more efficient and cost-effective network infrastructure.

Extensive Commercial Deployments and Diverse Applications

YOFC’s hollow-core fiber technology is not just a laboratory marvel; it has already been deployed in over 13 commercial and pilot projects both domestically and internationally. The company has collaborated with China’s three major telecom operators to implement this cutting-edge technology across a variety of scenarios. These include metropolitan area networks (MANs), intelligent computing interconnects, and even demanding subsea transmission applications. This wide-ranging adoption underscores the robustness and versatility of YOFC’s solution.

Milestones and Market Leadership

To date, YOFC has supplied more than 10,000 core kilometers of its hollow-core fiber, establishing numerous records within the industry. Notably, the company has deployed the longest single commercial line, spanning 100 kilometers, demonstrating the scalability and reliability of its products. These achievements have positioned YOFC as the leading global supplier of hollow-core fiber in terms of commercial deployment breadth.

Financial Performance Highlights

The company also shared its robust financial performance for the first half of 2026 (January to June). YOFC reported a total operating revenue of 9.809 billion yuan, marking a significant year-on-year increase of 53.64%. Net profit attributable to the parent company surged by an astonishing 888.88% to 2.925 billion yuan. Furthermore, the net profit after non-recurring items saw a substantial rise of 1680.48%, reaching 2.449 billion yuan. Operating cash flow also demonstrated strong growth, increasing by 116.82% to 1.826 billion yuan.

These financial results reflect the growing market demand for advanced optical fiber solutions and YOFC’s strong position in meeting that demand. The company’s continuous innovation, exemplified by the new transmission loss record, combined with solid business execution, points towards a bright future in the evolving landscape of high-speed data transmission and computing power infrastructure.
