The Delta Pilot state enterprise (Mykolaiv) has plans to build an automated radar-location post (ARLP) on Cape Fiolent in Sevastopol in 2011.
“The ARLP Fiolent will allow considerably widen the radar-location zone and the zone covered with the maritime traffic regulation centre (MTRC) Sevastopol. The range of detection of ships and of communication with them will increase to 30 miles,” the statement cites Delta Pilot deputy director for maritime traffic regulation and piloting support, Yurii Kharkov, as saying.
In his words, construction of automated radar-location posts is one of the key items on the enterprise development plan.
The Fiolent ARLP construction plan has already received a positive conclusion from a complex state expert panel of the Ukrderzhbudekspertyza state enterprise and was reconciled with the Derzhhydrohrafiya state establishment.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Delta Pilot state enterprise engages in the perfection of the navigation safety conditions; it services the Buh — Dnieper Lyman canal, the Kherson sea canal, the Danube — Black Sea deepwater navigation channel.
