Get ready for new audio gear from Sony! Reliable leaker Roland Quandt has shared details about two upcoming headphone models: the WH-CH730N and WH-CH530. These new models are expected to hit the market on September 7th.
Sony WH-CH730N Details Emerge
The WH-CH730N is set to arrive in four color options: black, pink, blue, and a sandy shade that might get a different official name. A key feature for this model is active noise cancellation (ANC), a step up from some of Sony’s more budget-friendly offerings. Weighing in at 220 grams, it’s a bit heavier than its predecessor, the WH-CH720N, which weighed 192 grams – an increase of about 14.6%.
The reported price for the WH-CH730N is €69.99 (approximately ¥545.70 CNY). This is significantly lower than the launch price of the WH-CH720N, which debuted earlier in 2023 for €149 (approximately ¥1,169 CNY).
Based on previous leaks, the WH-CH730N is expected to offer Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
Sony WH-CH530: A More Affordable Option
For those seeking a more budget-conscious choice, the WH-CH530 is also on the horizon. This model is anticipated to come in five vibrant colors: black, blue, mint green, pink, and white. The estimated retail price is €34.99 (approximately ¥272.80 CNY).
While specific features for the WH-CH530 haven’t been fully detailed in this latest leak, its lower price point suggests it will likely focus on core wireless audio functionality without the advanced features like ANC found in the WH-CH730N.
Market Anticipation
The leak from Quandt on Bluesky provides a timely look at what Sony might be preparing for the fall audio season. The significant price difference between the WH-CH730N and its predecessor, the WH-CH720N, could indicate a strategic shift in Sony’s product positioning, perhaps aiming to capture a wider market segment with more competitive pricing for its ANC-enabled headphones.
With a rumored launch date of September 7th, consumers won’t have to wait long to see if these leaks hold true and to get their hands on the latest from Sony’s audio division.
