The international law enforcement agency INTERPOL has released the results of its latest global anti-fraud operation, codenamed ‘Jackal IV’. The operation, which ran from November 2025 to June 2026, spanned 22 countries and focused on combating financial crimes such as romance scams, cryptocurrency and investment fraud, email scams, and money laundering.

INTERPOL announced that the operation led to the arrest of 58 individuals and the identification of 263 suspects involved in various illicit activities. This coordinated effort highlights the growing international cooperation needed to tackle sophisticated cyber-enabled financial crimes.

Argentina: Crime-as-a-Service Network Uncovered
In Argentina, police dismantled a ‘Crime-as-a-Service’ (CaaS) network that provided website domains and money laundering services. This significant bust resulted in the arrest of 17 individuals and the identification of 196 associates, underscoring the organized nature of these criminal enterprises.
South Africa: Romance and Investment Scams Targeted
South African authorities conducted raids on seven locations in Johannesburg. Their focus was on apprehending suspects involved in romance and investment scams targeting elderly individuals in English-speaking countries. The operation resulted in 39 arrests, the seizure of $2.67 million in illicit funds, and the freezing of 257 bank accounts.
Italy: Money Laundering Transactions Investigated
Italian police identified one suspect linked to a cross-European money laundering network. Investigations revealed that a single bank account associated with this individual was involved in money laundering transactions totaling 845,000 Euros, highlighting the substantial financial flows involved in these schemes.
Romania: Investment Fraud Ring Disrupted
In Romania, law enforcement successfully dismantled an investment fraud group. The operation led to the arrest of 11 individuals and the seizure of significant illegal assets, including cash, cryptocurrencies, and properties.
