Zhang Xue, founder of Zhang Xue Motorcycle, visited the lithium battery supplier Xin Neng An today for an exchange and inspection. During his visit, Zhang Xue revealed that the Zhang Xue electric vehicle is expected to begin mass production as early as next year.

This visit follows earlier discussions between Xin Neng An and Zhang Xue Motorcycle regarding specific cooperation plans, which began in May of this year. Xin Neng An is a lithium battery enterprise jointly established by CATL and ATL.

According to previous reports, Zhang Xue shared updates on the development of his company’s first electric motorcycle in May. He indicated that a new motor is nearing completion, boasting a diameter of 200 mm, a weight of 8 kg, and the capability to output 50 kW of power.

In July, Zhang Xue posted a ZDYD motor external characteristic curve graph, showcasing an output power of up to 50kW and a torque of 90 N·m. This performance has led to speculation about potential vehicle applications, with discussions around a maxi-scooter concept featuring a 300km range, 15-minute 10%-80% charge time, a weight of 170KG, and a price point of over 30,000 RMB.

A significant challenge for electric two-wheelers identified by Zhang Xue is the inconvenience of charging in residential areas at night, as many urban communities lack dedicated parking and charging facilities.

Responding to calls from enthusiasts for a step-through scooter model, Zhang Xue confirmed in a video on April 7th that such a model is in development. He described it as a “sporty and off-road style scooter,” promising a fun and engaging riding experience, albeit with a higher price than traditional 125cc or 150cc models. Images shared by a blogger suggest a design that differs from public expectations.
