The next Insta360 action camera will feature a new design

It has not been officially announced yet, but leaked photos and technical specifications have revealed the new design and capabilities of the next ultra-compact action camera from Insta360. The most notable update, thanks to product photos published by reliable insider Roland Quandt, is the new square design of the camera, which previously had a pill shape. It will also likely be called Insta360 Go Ultra, instead of Insta360 Go 4, if the company sticks to its previous naming system.

According to leaked information, the Insta 360 Go Ultra measures just over an inch on each side (30 mm), with the lens located in the corner of the camera. It weighs 53 grams, which is slightly heavier than the Go 3 (35.5 grams) and Go 2 (26.5 grams), but the Go Ultra is equipped with a new 1/1.28-inch sensor and supports 4K/60fps video recording. This is twice the frame rate of the updated Go 3S, which was introduced about a year ago.

The camera will be equipped with stabilization and horizon locking features, as well as Active HDR mode, which allows you to shoot brighter videos when recording in 4K/30fps format. The Go Ultra will also feature a redesigned Action Pod docking station, which includes a flip-up screen for real-time preview and acts as a wireless remote control. It will also increase the Go Ultra’s battery life, but specific details about the new camera’s battery life are not yet known.

What about the potential release date? Previous versions of Insta 360 Go debuted in June and even earlier, but leaks have not yet revealed when the company plans to officially release the latest version.
