Apple has yet to introduce wireless charging for the iPad, but the new Kuxiu charger provides similar functionality and convenience for the iPad Pro and iPad Air. Like wireless chargers for the iPhone, the M30 magnetically attaches to the back of supported iPad models, but instead of transferring energy via wired coils and induction, it uses the same Smart Connector contacts that iPad accessories such as the Magic Keyboard are based on.
The M30 Magnetic Smart Connector Charger is now available on the Kuxiu website for $39.99 and is compatible with iPad models that have a Smart Connector on the back and can be charged through it. These include the iPad Pro M4, as well as many versions of the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, as well as the 11-inch iPad Air with M3 and M2 processors and the 4th and 5th generation 10.9-inch Air. In addition to potentially being easier to connect and disconnect from the iPad than a USB cable, the M30 charger also frees up the tablet’s single USB-C port.
M30 will also charge certain iPad models faster than even the new Qi2.2 wireless charging standard. Supported iPad models with Apple M2 and M3 chips will charge at up to 18W, while models with the M4 chip will charge at 35W. For comparison, the iPhone 16 lineup can be charged wirelessly at up to 25W using the new version of the MagSafe charger that Apple introduced in September.
