Four International Banks Open Credit Line of EUR 300 Million for MTS

    mtsThe international banks BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Societe Generale have opened a credit line of EUR 300 million for Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), which is the leading telecommunications operator in Russia, for financing supply of equipment and provision of services in Russia and Ukraine.

    The credit line was opened for eight years, un.ua says.  The interest rate on the credit line equals the six-month EURIBOR + 1.65%. Finnvera, the Finnish export guaranty agency, guarantees the credit line. The supplier of the equipment and provider of the services is Nokia Siemens Networks.

    The MTS Ukraine company provides mobile communications services in Ukraine under the MTS brand name. MTS (Russia) owns 100% of the shares in MTS Ukraine. MTS Ukraine and Nokia Siemens Networks B.V. (Amsterdam, Netherlands) began creating a convergent virtual private network (VPN) in December 2009.
