Mobile services operator life:) activated the Dual Transfer Mode (DTM) technology of simultaneous data and voice transfer in 9 more regions of Ukraine, in particular: Chernivetsky, Ivano-Frankivsky, Khersonsky, L’vivsky, Rivnensky, Ternopilsky, Volynsky, Zakarpatsky and Crimea.
Owing to Ericsson that serves life:)’s network, the Dual Transfer Mode technology is available at all basic stations in Cherkassky, Chernigivsky, Khmelnytsky, Kyivsky, Mykolayivsky, Odessky, Vinnitsky and Zhitomyrsky regions, since November 2009. Another partner of life:), Huawei, enabled the DTM technology at all basic stations in 9 more regions of Ukraine: Chernivetsky, Ivano-Frankivsky, Khersonsky, L’vivsky, Rivnensky, Ternopilsky, Volynsky, Zakarpatsky, as well as in Crimea Republic.
The DTM technology enables life:) subscribers whose mobile phones support the corresponding function to make and receive calls without interrupting the mobile Internet session. Thus, it is possible, for example, to send pictures or to use the instant messaging program ICQ while still talking on the phone.
The capabilities that the subscriber gets with the help of DTM technology depend on the class of the phone. With an A-class phone, the subscriber is able to use voice connection and mobile Internet simultaneously. With a B-class phone, the subscriber can receive and make calls, but a data transfer session will automatically set to the standby mode during a call, and resume after the call is finished. Subscribers with C-class terminals can seamlessly receive calls during a data transfer session, but the session will be interrupted.
