Yushchenko gave Kyivstar shareholders ~ $ 475 million

    KSThe shareholders of Kyivstar, Ukrainian mobile operator, plan to consider additional dividends for 2008. Previously the company intended to keep money in the accounts to participate in the tender to purchase 3G licenses, but now it seems to be senseless.

    As it was recently reported, due to Presidential veto the above-mentioned tender had been cancelled.
    According to Kyivstar’s official statement published in the Ukrainian press, the shareholders would consider further dividends for 2008 at its meeting which is scheduled for December 11, 2009. The item on this subject has already put on the agenda.
    Earlier Kyivstar paid out 1.9 billion UAH as dividends for 2008 out of UAH 5.559 billion net profit. While additional maximum as expected by experts may reach as much as UAH 3.659 billion, or about $ 475 million.
