According to a new leak from Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is preparing to launch its next folding clamshell, the Mix Flip 2, in June. The device will debut alongside other Xiaomi products, including the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and the Redmi compact gaming tablet. However, Mix Flip 2 is expected to be unveiled at a separate event from Redmi devices.
Mix Flip 2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. Unlike previous years, the Mix Flip 2 will be Xiaomi’s only foldable smartphone in 2025, as there are no plans to launch the Mix Fold 4. Previous leaks indicate that the Mix Flip 2 will feature a 6.85-inch foldable OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. When unfolded, it will be 7.6 mm thick and weigh about 190 grams, making it thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The phone is expected to come with fashionable accessories, which will enhance its lifestyle appeal.
Mix Flip 2 has already received 3C certification in China, confirming its imminent launch. It is expected to feature a 5,100 mAh battery with 67W and 50W wired and wireless charging support.
As for the camera, it is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Additional features include an IR blaster, NFC, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and IPX8 water resistance.
The global launch is likely scheduled for July, shortly after the launch in China. In the meantime, the Redmi K80 Ultra is expected to remain exclusive to China, although a global variant could arrive as the Xiaomi 15T Pro in Q3 2025.
