Last week, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro models in China, which became the world’s first smartphones based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. These devices became available for purchase at 20:00 (local time) on October 31. Shortly after the Xiaomi 14 series smartphones became available to customers, the company reported excellent sales figures from the first sale.

According to the brand’s post on Weibo, the Xiaomi 14 series broke last year’s record for “first-day and all-day sales” on China’s largest online retailer platforms such as Tmall, Jingdong Mall, Douyin, and Kuaishou, selling out within the first four hours of the launch. However, Xiaomi did not disclose the exact sales figures for the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro.
The brand also said that the Xiaomi 14 series achieved an impressive six-fold increase in first-time sales compared to the previous generation in just five minutes after it became available for purchase. Xiaoyan Wang, vice president of Xiaomi in China, said that the Xiaomi Home online store experienced technical difficulties due to the overwhelming number of users who purchased Xiaomi 14 series smartphones.
Several factors have played a role in the outstanding sales performance of Xiaomi’s 14 series smartphones. Among them are the impressive design, which is an improved iteration of the Xiaomi 13 series, the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and the introduction of the all-new HyperOS user interface. In addition, both smartphones are equipped with a Leica-optimized Light Hunter 900 main camera in addition to a unique Leica Summilux lens that provides high quality photography. Prices for Xiaomi 14-series smartphones are as follows:
- The base model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage costs 3,999 yuan (~$546),
- a variant with 12 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage – 4,299 yuan (~$587),
- 16 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage – 4,599 yuan (~$628),
- 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage – 4,999 yuan (~$683)
On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 Pro also comes in different configurations:
- The version with 12 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage costs 4,999 yuan (~$683),
- 16 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant – 5,499 yuan (~$750),
- 16 GB of RAM + 1 TB of storage – 5,999 yuan (~$819),
- the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant with a titanium alloy frame costs 6,499 yuan (~$888).
There is currently no information on the global launch date of the 14th series.
