Xbox is testing the ability to stream its own games to PCs

Xbox is bringing its “stream your own game” feature to PC. On Tuesday, the company announced that Xbox insiders with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription can try streaming Xbox games they own, including those available only on the console, directly from the Xbox PC app.

Xbox began allowing Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream games from their library to Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One consoles earlier this year. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can also stream games from their TVs and browsers to devices such as smartphones, PCs, tablets, and Meta Quest headsets.

The move to PC is especially useful as it will help users save memory when playing large files, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which requires 128 GB of free SSD storage space. Xbox currently allows users to stream more than 250 games from their libraries, in addition to those they receive through Game Pass. The company says it plans to add more console games and Play Anywhere games to its list in the future.
