Xbox Cloud Gaming will allow you to invite friends via the link

In the February Xbox update, Microsoft made it easier to invite friends to your Xbox cloud gaming session by allowing you to create shareable links. You can send the link in an Xbox message or copy it to the clipboard to paste it into any messaging program. Players can accept the invitation in a supported web browser on a PC or mobile phone and join the game immediately or receive a code to enter on any TV or streaming device with Xbox gaming capabilities.

Eligible participants must have an Xbox account, and some games require an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Also, each player must be “eligible” for the game, presumably by owning it directly or having access through Game Pass or a free play period. You can invite as many friends as the game allows and revoke the link at any time. Some games also allow you to remove unwanted players from your session.

This new feature comes as part of the ongoing expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming, which recently added the ability to stream your own games on your Xbox console or across mobile devices, PCs, and TVs. (Previously, you could only stream individual Game Pass titles.) The feature originally supported 50 games, but Microsoft recently expanded it to about a half-dozen, including big titles like Blasphemous II, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Subnautica.
