Whoop replaces even working MGs in advance

Users of Whoop fitness trackers are reporting that their Whoop MG fitness trackers are no longer responding, in some cases less than an hour after setting them up. The company is now replacing the trackers, in some cases even before users ask for them, TechIssuesToday reports.

Launched alongside Whoop 5.0 earlier this month, the Whoop MG (which stands for “Medical Grade”) comes with ECG and blood pressure capabilities and requires a premium Whoop Life subscription worth $359 per year. Users began reporting problems with the tracker almost immediately.

On May 11, on the Whoop community forum, a user reported that his MG “stopped working at night after 8 hours of work. No green light, no blue light, nothing. Now it won’t connect to the app.” Others responded that the tracker failed even earlier, with one person reporting that it became inert within half an hour of starting to use it. Some have also reported that their version 5.0 crashed.

Judging by the Whoop Reddit group, the company is indeed replacing devices, and according to some, doing so proactively. The person who posted the screenshot above later commented: “They contacted me, I was surprised to see the email.” The same can be said for a user who wrote two days ago that Whoop informed him that he would receive a replacement, despite the fact that he hadn’t noticed any problem. Someone in this thread even wrote that they received a replacement, despite the fact that Whoop never told them about it.
