The WhatsApp web client may soon add voice and video calling features, WABetaInfo reports. Currently, WhatsApp users who want to call others have to rely on either the mobile app or the desktop app for PC or Mac. However, WABetaInfo has discovered that new call buttons have been added to the web client, which means that you will soon be able to access all the same features no matter where you use WhatsApp.
In last month’s update, WhatsApp changed the way you start a voice or video call in individual and group chats by adding a call dropdown menu for beta testers. Now, it looks like WhatsApp is doing more extensive work on its calling features. WABetaInfo shared a screenshot of a purported WhatsApp group chat in a web browser, which shows familiar camera and phone icons available in the main app that were not there before.

Once WhatsApp is ready to widely promote this feature, it will make the app more versatile, like other communication platforms, including Microsoft Teams, allowing you to chat and meet anywhere as long as you have a web browser such as Chrome, Edge or Safari (without having to download or install the app).
