Vivo has quietly announced its first G-series phone in the Chinese market. Last week, the Vivo G2 was spotted in the Google Play console database, and now it has officially appeared on the Vivo China website. Here are the specifications, features, and price of the device.
Specifications and features of Vivo G2
Vivo G2 has a 6.56-inch LCD panel with a drop-shaped notch. The screen has an HD+ resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The device comes preinstalled with Android 13 based on Origin OS 3. There is a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front and a 13-megapixel single camera with LED flash on the back.
Under the hood, the Vivo G2 is powered by the Dimensity 6020 chipset and up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. In terms of storage, the device offers up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage and a microSD card slot for additional memory.
Vivo G2 is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W USB-C charging capability. The device offers other features such as dual SIM, 5G, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a fingerprint scanner on the side.
The specs and design of the Vivo G2 show that it is a rebranded version of the Vivo Y36i, which was announced in China in December 2023. It seems that the G2 is aimed at the offline market in China.
Price of Vivo G2
Vivo G2 is available in four variants: 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB. These variants are priced at 1,199 yuan (~$167), 1,499 yuan (~$210), 1,599 yuan (~$225), and 1,899 yuan (~$265) respectively. It is only available in Deep Sea Black color.
