Unannounced Samsung tablet with Exynos 1280 appears on Geekbench

Samsung continues to produce tablets. Having released several models throughout the year, from budget options like the Galaxy Tab A9 to high-end ones like the Tab S9 Ultra, the Korean giant hasn’t rested on its laurels yet. According to a new list of benchmarks, Samsung is preparing another affordable tablet in the labs.

This upcoming tablet, which appeared in the Geekbench benchmark, could be a mid-range device that falls in between the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab S9 FE. It could be called Galaxy Tab S9 Lite or Galaxy Tab S8 Lite, but we’re still guessing about the official name.

The tablet’s Geekbench model number is SM-P620, and it is expected to be equipped with a mid-range Exynos 1280 processor. This is a 5nm chipset with two high-performance processor cores and six energy-efficient cores.

The device scored 930 points in single-core and 1843 points in multi-core tests. It is also likely to have 4GB of RAM and run on the latest Android 14 operating system.

This hardware suggests that the new tablet will perform better than the Galaxy Tab A9+, which has an older 6nm chip, but it probably won’t match the power of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE.

Since it appeared in Geekbench, we might see the launch of this tablet by the end of 2024. But so far, there is no confirmed release date and even its name is still being kept under wraps. So it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer before this tablet hits the markets around the world.

By the way, the recently launched Galaxy S24 series is already available for pre-order, and the smartphone will be available in retail stores on January 31. Here you can find out all the details about the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, as well as the top-of-the-line Galaxy S24 Ultra.
