Threads adds new content performance metrics

Threads is rolling out advanced metrics to help users better understand how their posts are performing and where their content is being found, the company announced on Tuesday.

Users can now see more detailed information on the platform’s Insights dashboard. Going to the “Interaction” section, they will see the interaction in the form of likes, replies, quotes, and reposts. The Followers section shows the growth of the number of followers with geographic data, including the largest cities and countries, as well as demographic information, such as age range and gender.

Additionally, users can see how their post performance has changed with a new chart that shows trends in their content over a period of seven to 90 days.

Since relevant Threads posts can be recommended to people on Instagram and Facebook, Threads will now allow users to see where people are encountering their content. They can see the percentage of views of their posts in each app.

The Meta-owned platform says the updates are aimed at helping authors build an audience, expand their presence, and understand what content resonates with their followers.

The move comes as Threads is growing rapidly. Recent data from market intelligence provider Similarweb showed that the platform is catching up with its main competitor X in terms of mobile app users.

In June 2025, the Threads mobile app for iOS and Android had 115.1 million daily active users, representing 127.8% year-on-year growth. X, on the other hand, reached 132 million daily active users, and its year-over-year growth was down 15.2%.

It makes sense for Threads to provide creators on its platform with additional tools to build their presence on the social network as it continues to battle X and other competitors.
