The thickness of the Galaxy S26 Edge has been revealed, and it's impressive

Samsung is working on the successor to the 5.8-millimeter Galaxy S25 Edge, and the news is that it will be even thinner than its predecessor. In addition, it will have a larger battery. Unlike the S25 Edge, its successor will be released alongside the expected standard Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Ultra, replacing the Plus model.

The latest news comes from a reliable source, Ice Universe, who claims that the thickness of the Galaxy S26 Edge is only 5.5 mm. He claims that the battery capacity is 4200 mAh. It is noteworthy that battery capacity is an area where we have already seen several conflicting leaks.

According to a recent leak from Setsuna Digital on Weibo, the S26 Edge is equipped with a 4400 mAh battery, the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This is both impressive and questionable, as the Fold 7 achieves this capacity by using two separate battery packs in a much larger form factor, which is not the case with the upcoming Edge model. Furthermore, Samsung is not expected to switch to silicon-carbon batteries anytime soon, as the company is reportedly focused on a new revolutionary solid-state battery technology — none of which are expected to be used in the S26 Edge.

So, will there be a slightly smaller 4200 mAh battery inside the S26 Edge? A 300 mAh increase in a 0.3 mm thinner body is still impressive. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how Samsung compensates for the 4900 mAh capacity of the S25 Plus, which it is set to replace.

Although none of the above information is official, as the launch date approaches, new leaks and rumors will emerge that will give us a clearer idea of what to expect. So stay tuned.
