The final design of the Pebble Time 2 smartwatch has been released

Pebble creator Eric Migicovsky and his new company Core Designs have been working hard on new smartwatches with electronic displays, and the team has just unveiled the final design for its high-end model. Pebble Time 2 has a 1.5-inch 64-color e-paper screen, a touchscreen display, a metal frame, a heart rate monitor, and (according to the manufacturer) up to 30 days of battery life.

The frame is slightly more curved than in previous versions of the Pebble Time 2. The top and bottom buttons on the right side are now angled rather than aligned with the center button. With the strap, the Pebble Time 2 weighs about 48 grams, and the case weighs about 32.5 grams.

Core Designs has also added new features to the smartwatch. The front and back panels and buttons of the Pebble Time 2 will be made of 316 stainless steel. The watch will also feature multi-color RGB backlighting, a compass sensor, and a screw-on back cover. In addition, the team has added a second microphone, which, according to Migikovsky, could be used to potentially support noise cancellation.

It has previously been confirmed that the Pebble Time 2 will feature a 22 mm quick-release strap, a flat tempered glass lens, step and sleep tracking, and a speaker. The watch will also feature vibration and water resistance.

Core Designs plans to release Pebble Time 2 in four colors, but the team has not yet decided on the options. Once this is done, everyone who pre-ordered the smartwatch will receive an email asking them to choose a color.

Pebble Time 2 is scheduled to ship in December and will cost $225 (the $149 Pebble Duo 2 went on sale last month). Migikovsky and his team recently regained the rights to the Pebble trademark. This allowed them to start using the Pebble brand again and rename the models that were previously called Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2.
