The Air Force will receive drones and electronic warfare systems

“Come Back Alive” together with Nova Post handed over the first batch of equipment to the Air Force of Ukraine as part of the project worth UAH 16 million.

An ecosystem to combat drones

17 military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received an entire ecosystem to effectively combat enemy reconnaissance wings, namely:

  • anti-aircraft FPV drones with thermal imaging and daytime cameras
  • training and combat UAVs;
  • Aircraft-type FPVs;
  • ground control stations;
  • catapults for launching UAVs, etc.

The cost of the purchased equipment is UAH 16.6 million: UAH 8.3 million was donated by Ukrainians and another UAH 8.3 million was added by Nova Post.

The equipment will help preserve air defense systems that protect the sky, in particular, in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Odesa, Kherson, and Dnipro.

“In fact, it is not just modernized FPV drones and components, it is about preserving anti-aircraft missile systems, fighters, radar stations and people who cover our skies,” says Oleh Karpenko, Deputy Director of the Come Back Alive initiative.

An important collection

On September 30, Nova Post and Come Back Alive launched a UAH 300 million fundraiser to strengthen air defense. The funds will be used to protect air defense systems that are the target of enemy air attacks, particularly in the frontline areas. Nova Post will double all the donations you transfer to the “Come Back Alive” account.

Together with Nova Post, the foundation is forming a system to protect air defense against Russian reconnaissance drones, as Russian missiles follow them.

According to Karpenko, it’s not just about purchasing and transferring property. The Foundation also teaches the military how to use it effectively.

“The solution from the project “Let’s confuse the enemy” is a combination of detection (EW), suppression (EW) and destruction (anti-aircraft FPV drones). And this solution is much cheaper than the use of missiles costing millions of dollars,” adds the foundation’s representative.

The fundraising is ongoing. Get involved to protect those who protect us.

What the Air Force will get

The funds raised will be used to purchase:

  • Upgraded FPV drones and components to destroy enemy reconnaissance UAVs such as Supercam, ZALA, Orlan-10. This is a cheaper and more effective solution than using anti-aircraft missile systems.
  • Transportation to increase the mobility of Air Force units, as well as electronic warfare and reconnaissance specialists.
  • Secure communications equipment: mobile command posts and backpacks for mobile fire groups that will ensure autonomous operation.
  • Electronic warfare equipment, which, on the one hand, intercepts and analyzes enemy signals, and, on the other hand, disorients the enemy and jams its satellite and mobile communications.
  • Training. The mobile electronic warfare teams have been created from scratch and will undergo a special course developed by the Come Back Alive Foundation.

100% of the project’s solutions are either entirely Ukrainian development or a combination of our military experience and Western equipment/techniques.
