Over the past 19 seasons, the championship organizers have gathered more than 25,000 specialists from Europe. This year’s anniversary DEV Challenge XX will traditionally bring together IT specialists to crash test their practical skills in the Backend, Frontend, Testing, Product Design, and UI Design categories. Most of the tasks for the participants will be related to social IT solutions for Ukraine.
Who is it for?
The competition is designed for a wide audience and will be useful for both mid-level and experienced developers, as well as for beginners. The championship will be held in two categories: Lite (Junior → Middle) and Hard (Middle → Senior).
This is an opportunity not only to show and improve your skills, but also a chance to make a name for yourself in the professional community. During the season alone, the DEV Challenge community brings together 2500+ participants, 40+ judges, mentors in various fields, and partner companies.
The team of judges is divided into nomination areas and is represented by practitioners from Ukraine, the USA, the UK, Canada, Latvia, Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Croatia. The official website lists representatives of Google, Microsoft, Epic Games, and Stanford University among the judges.

Tasks for the participants
As part of the 20th season, participants will work on socially important tasks from UNICEF, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Come Back Alive charity, the Center for Civil Liberties, which received the 2022 Peace Prize at the official Nobel Prize ceremony, and other organizations important to the country.
“Over 19 seasons, the DEV Challenge has come a long way: from a web development competition in 2012 to a technology festival that brings together thousands of talented developers, designers, and testers from the CEE region. We are happy to continue this tradition by gathering a community of specialists from Europe and directing joint efforts to Ukraine to support IT initiatives of ministries, charities, and NGOs,” said Evgenia Bespalova, founder of DEV Challenge.
