Telesens birthday: 25 years on the Ukrainian market

Today is the anniversary of Telesens! HiTech Expert congratulates all the employees of the well-known IT developer and posts a greeting from Eduard Rubin, the founder of Telesens.

25 years is enough time to talk about its history, successes, achievements and people. It is simply impossible to tell you all the details of this fascinating journey, but some of the key moments of our history are worth sharing.

1998. Telesens was founded in Kharkiv as a development center of the German parent company that worked on Deutsche Telekom projects. We were the first IT company in Kharkiv and one of the few in Ukraine with foreign investments. In our activities, we began to use technologies that few of the specialists we hired knew at that time. Therefore, we were looking for smart, promising guys and trained them along with their work. For almost a year, we employed three German specialists who set up modern processes. We jokingly called them “European processes” 🙂

2000. The parent company conducts an IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and becomes a public company.

2002. Crisis and the beginning of an independent life. The company in Germany goes bankrupt, but we survive and buy out the Ukrainian part of the company and the Interconnect product we developed, which became the flagship product of Telesens. At that time, there was no such thing as a startup, but that’s exactly what it was. At the same time, we continued to work with Deutsche Telekom.

2003. We got our first client in Ukraine – Kyivstar. Looking ahead, we are still working with them and they are our best client. But we will tell you about this story later.

Since then, all telecoms in Ukraine and Kazakhstan, as well as the largest telecom in Uzbekistan, have become our clients. Our partners are the largest integrators Nokia, Ericsson, NEC, as well as an Israeli company that, after many transformations, became part of the IT giant AMDOCS, which has a huge share of the US IT services market.

День народження Telesens: 25 років на ринку України

Today, we have 12 products in our offer and are working on three more new ones, which we will present to our customers very soon.

From the very first years of our existence, we have paid great attention to quality and safety. We have been certified according to ISO 9001 standards, and a few years ago we were certified according to ISO 27001. We are technology partners of such giants as Microsoft and Oracle.

We have 30% women in our team, both developers and non-technical specialists.

We work on the principles of gender equality and create conditions for development and growth. Our specialists have grown in the company from the position of translator to Head of key account manager.

The entire top management of the CEO, CFO, HRD, and chief accountant are women.

26 employees have been with the company for more than 10 years, and 11 have been with it for almost 25 years.

We have a great team, and I am grateful to all our employees for the work they do.

We work for life, not live for work, so from the first days of the company’s existence we have had a good social package, where we still have 28 calendar days of vacation, because people should be passionate about their work, not burn out.

In peacetime, we always got together and celebrated our birthdays as a team, but then the pandemic and the war meant that we didn’t have time for big holidays. Many of our guys are fighting today, and those who are working are helping financially both our guys and other units of the other Armed Forces. We are all working for victory, and Ukraine will win.

25 years is just an interim anniversary. We have a lot of plans and they are interesting.

I am grateful to the current Telesens team and those who have worked with us for 25 years, and I am grateful to our clients and partners for many years of cooperation.

Let’s keep running!

Eduard Rubin, founder of Telesens
