Subsidy processing on the Diia portal is simplified

One of the most popular services has become even easier. To apply for a subsidy, you no longer need to spend half an hour and fill in all the details yourself.

The number of steps has decreased from 21 to 7, now it takes only 10 minutes to get the service, because most of the information is pulled from the registers automatically.

Important

  • If you have previously applied for a subsidy online or offline, you do not need to submit it again.
  • If you are receiving a subsidy for the first time, use the updated functionality on the portal right now.

“The process of applying for a subsidy on the Diia portal has been accelerated three times. Previously, it took 30 minutes. Now the service can be obtained in 10 minutes by filling in 7 fields instead of 21. Most documents will be automatically pulled from the registers, there is no need to stand in lines, collect certificates and fill out long questionnaires,” says Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

Who can receive a subsidy

Let us remind you who can receive a subsidy:

  • a person who is registered in a dwelling;
  • a person who is not registered but actually resides on the basis of a lease agreement;
  • an internally displaced person who actually resides without a lease agreement;
  • a minor child who is left without parental care and has an official representative or guardian;
  • an incapacitated person of working age who is under guardianship;
  • a developer whose building has not been put into operation, but who is charged for housing and communal services.

Popularity of the service

The service of submitting a simplified application for a subsidy is available to Ukrainians who apply for it for the first time. You can use the updated functionality on the Diia portal.

The opportunity to apply for a subsidy through Diia appeared in 2021. And since then, the team has been constantly improving the process so that there is no need to manually enter information that can be pulled up from the registers.

Subsidies are the second most popular service in Ukraine. In total, more than 10 million Ukrainians use social services every year. They spend about UAH 700 billion from the state budget on them.

This is due to the fact that utility prices are constantly rising, unlike incomes, especially in times of war. Therefore, many Ukrainians are trying not only to save money, but also to survive.

Saving the budget

On the other hand, the digitalization of social services will help save the budget, time, and the environment.

About 18 million paper applications a year are accepted by institutions, which is about 270 million sheets or 1300 tons of paper per year.

The service is being implemented by Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with the Ministry of Social Policy, the Pension Fund of Ukraine with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine within the framework of the “Action Support Project” funded by the Government of Japan.
