Starlink satellite internet service does not work anywhere

Just after 3:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, Starlink users reported that they could not connect to SpaceX’s satellite internet.

Starlink‘s website confirmed the problem by posting a banner with a message: “Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating.” On Day X, Starlink issued a more detailed statement at 4:05 p.m. ET: “Starlink is currently experiencing a network outage and we are actively implementing a solution. We appreciate your patience and will share an update as soon as the issue is resolved.”

It’s unclear how widespread the outage is, but X and Reddit users from the U.S. and countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia are reporting that their connections are down, with error messages saying “no healthy upstream.”

This is not the first large-scale network outage, but they have been rare, and this appears to be the first in 2025. It is unclear how this will affect other services and users that rely on Starlink, such as T-Mobile’s just-launched T-Satellite service, or government users such as the Ukrainian army.
