Special rescue equipment is used in situations where conventional rescue methods are ineffective or insufficiently safe. Today, unfortunately, it has to be used frequently in Ukraine.
Use of rescue equipment
Situations when it is necessary to use such equipment include:
- Life-threatening natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and hurricanes.
- Industrial emergencies such as fires, chemical spills and building collapses.
- Catastrophic accidents such as airplane crashes and train derailments.
Necessity of application in war conditions
Unfortunately, in Ukraine today it is also often necessary to use specialized rescue equipment, as the Russian army is constantly firing rockets and artillery at civilian infrastructure within its range.
In fact, entire towns in eastern Ukraine have been wiped off the face of the earth. And during the full-scale war unleashed by the Kremlin, missiles have hit apartment buildings, shopping centers and energy facilities.
These shellings have killed thousands of civilians, including women and children. Many houses were completely destroyed and people were left homeless.
Russia is waging war as a terrorist country against the civilian population of Ukraine.
The events in Ukraine are a humanitarian catastrophe. The international community must help Ukraine protect its citizens and end this war.
What kind of equipment is available
Specialized rescue equipment may include:
- Lifting equipment such as cranes and helicopters.
- Penetrating equipment such as hydraulic shears and jacks.
- Protective equipment such as breathing apparatus and protective suits.
- Medical supplies such as antishock medications and first aid supplies.
In addition, specialized rescue teams may have access to a wider range of information than regular rescuers, such as satellite maps and weather data. This allows them to conduct more accurate and safer rescue operations.
Specialized rescue equipment is an important part of protecting the public from natural disasters, military destruction, and other emergencies. Thanks to this equipment, rescuers can quickly and safely evacuate people from dangerous areas, provide first aid and save their lives.
