When you think of Sony wireless headphones, the flagship quality WF-1000XM5 is probably the first product that comes to mind. However, the company also knows how to create budget models, combining features and technology to provide users with solid value for much less money. This was the case when the WF-C700N headphones were introduced in 2023, offering active noise cancellation (ANC), long battery life, and other features for $120. Now Sony is back with the successor to these headphones, the WF-C710N, which has many improvements, but the price has remained the same.
First, Sony claims to have improved the frequency response performance by using dual microphones on each earbud of the C710N. The C700N had only one on each side. This time, the company is also using artificial noise reduction technology to improve call quality. On the outside, Sony has replaced the physical button for control with a touch panel, and has also added a wear detection feature for added convenience.
You can also expect longer battery life on the C710N. With ANC enabled, it lasts 8.5 hours, an hour longer than the C700N. With ANC off, you can expect two hours more than the previous model. Additionally, the total battery life with the case has doubled, and you can now play for up to 30 hours in noise canceling mode (up to 40 hours with noise canceling off). Sony has also improved the fast charge feature so you can play an hour in five minutes instead of the previous 10-minute window.
