Sony is discontinuing its PlayStation Stars loyalty program. Starting today, you can no longer sign up for the program. If you have been a member and cancel your membership, you will not be able to register again.
Current members can still earn points and digital collectibles, as well as upgrade their status until July 23 at 21:59 ET. After that, all campaigns and rewards will be kaput. The program will be completely terminated on November 2. However, if you keep your membership until then, you will be able to redeem your points even after that, provided that they have not expired.
Sony launched PlayStation Stars in 2022. The company’s first loyalty program allows you to earn points by playing games and making purchases on the PlayStation Store. You can redeem your points for things like PSN Wallet funds and select in-store items.
Now the company will “refocus” its approach to rewards. (“We want to thank all of our players for supporting PlayStation Stars since its launch in 2022,” Sony wrote on the PlayStation Blog. “As we explore new ways to develop our loyalty program in the future, we will continue to recognize all of our players through various planned community events.”
