Sony may be working on a unique feature for its next generation of DualSense controllers that will help players beat games more easily. The patent shows that artificial intelligence can be used to overcome difficult challenges in video games.
Sony’s DualSense controllers could help you defeat difficult bosses
Sony currently offers DualSense in a basic version and Edge (mostly Pro). But a recent patent application hints that a next-generation DualSense controller may be in the works. Judging by the list of patents, the new DualSense from the Japanese tech giant will have some significant changes. One of the most notable changes is the touchpad, which now also functions as a display.

This is not a simple addition to the existing design, but a robust machine learning and artificial intelligence system. The new DualSense will use the screen to help players by displaying hints for the most effective actions. In addition to this, the buttons, namely sticks and triggers, are also highlighted. This way, the system ensures that players know what actions are recommended during difficult stages of the game.
On paper, this can help players defeat difficult bosses or solve challenging puzzles. Even difficult areas can be completed with this feature. This feature can help make games more accessible to inexperienced players or people with certain types of disabilities. However, it should be turned off by default, as a hint that appears every time you play a game can be annoying for some, especially if the AI model is not properly trained and suggests the wrong actions.
