Luxemburg-based SES ASTRA company has selected a provider of technological service, Odesa-based Direct Connect, to provide service of broadband satellite Internet access Astra2Connect in Ukraine.
According to the report, in September, the companies signed distribution agreement, un.ua says.
From September on, the service is rendered in Odesa, Kyiv and 100 kilometers around Kyiv and also in western regions of Ukraine.
In 2011, it is planned to expand the service for the whole territory of Ukraine.
Commercial operation of the service in Europe took place in 2007.
The SES ASTRA company renders satellite broadcasting in Europe and commissioned 15 satellites.
