The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have the S Pen on board, as has been the tradition for all Galaxy S Ultra smartphones since the Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2022. What this S Pen will no longer have is Air Commands, because as it turned out, almost no one cared about them.
Air Commands is a feature that allows Galaxy owners to assign various actions to pen gestures made, as the name implies, in the air, not on the phone screen. At the briefing, Samsung representatives told the media that less than one percent of S Pen owners used Air Commands.
Those who did, mostly used them to trigger camera shots, which can be done quite easily without the S Pen. For the one percent of users who may be upset about the disappearance of Air Commands, Samsung claims that removing gesture support as well as Bluetooth LE will increase the pen’s durability and reduce its weight.
