Samsung has announced the Galaxy M55 5G mid-range phone in Brazil. The first rumors about the device suggested that it might be similar to the Galaxy A55, which recently debuted in various markets. Galaxy M55 5G is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED Plus display with a perforated design. The screen has a Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits peak brightness and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The phone runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 overlay on top.
The Galaxy M55 is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging. The SoC is combined with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It offers connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB-C port.
The M55 has a 50-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. On the back of the device is a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel camera for ultra-wide-angle shots, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The device is equipped with dual speakers for audiophiles. The body is made of polycarbonate and is protected against dust and water according to the IP67 standard. The M55 is 7.8 mm thick and weighs 180 grams.

In Brazil, the Galaxy M55 retails for R$2,699, which is approximately $540. It is available in two shades, such as light green and dark blue. The M55 is expected to be released in other markets in the coming weeks.
