Samsung is finally stepping up its customization game with the Glass UI effect now available in its Theme Park app – and it looks like a direct response to Apple’s much-discussed “Liquid Glass” design in iOS 26. While Samsung initially poked fun at Apple, it now appears to be taking a page from its rival’s playbook – but with a more flexible approach.
The latest update to Theme Park (version 1.1.01.23) was released on July 18 and added five new effects for icons: Basic, Film Grain, Duotone, Glass, and Gradient. Unlike Apple’s Liquid Glass technology, which still adjusts the visibility of icons on different backgrounds, Samsung’s solution allows users to customize almost every aspect of the appearance, including third-party app icons.
With the new Glass effect, you can customize the transparency, glow, hue, saturation of icons and even perfectly match them to your wallpaper for a clean, futuristic look. Even notifications will become translucent. And the best part? You don’t need to update your system – it works right in One UI 8 on devices like the Galaxy S25 and Z Fold 7.
