Samsung’s summer Unpacked event officially kicked off at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 9. The invitation contains a jazz bop and the words “Ultra Unfolds,” so it’s safe to assume that we’ll be getting the same Ultra foldable phone that the company has previously hinted at.
The event is set to take place in Brooklyn, but you can watch it on Samsung’s YouTube channel.
The invitation seems to imply a thinner device. This matches some rumors, and ultra-thin foldable devices have certainly been a trend this year.
As always, Samsung is offering a small incentive to pre-order the device ahead of the big reveal: $50 in credit on Samsung.com. This will cover a portion of the cost of a folding phone case, which currently costs between $85 and $100 for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 on Samsung’s website. If the Ultra comes with the Ultra price tag, it might be worth shelling out a little more to protect it from wear and tear with daily use. Just a little free advice.
