Sales of mobile terminals in Ukraine reduced by 3.58 million or 45.3% to 4.32 million in 2009, compared with 2008. The Unitrade Group, an IT holding, announced this in a statement.
In monetary terms, the volume of sales of mobile terminals reduced by USD 903 million or 61.8% to USD 557 million in 2009.
According to the holding company, one of the main trends in 2009 was an increase in the proportion of touch-screen mobile terminals (they increased by 5 percentage points to 6% of the total number of mobile terminals sold in 2009, compared with 2008).
The proportion of smart phones and communicators in the total number of mobile terminals sold in 2009 increased by 1 percentage point to 11%.
Besides, sales of mobile terminals reduced by 54.5% to 1.8 million in the first half of 2009 and increased by 37.4% to 2.5 million in the second half of the year, un.ua says.
