Russian hackers steal data through Microsoft Teams chat

This time, the attackers asked the victims to accept a chat request disguised as technical support accounts.

In particular, the hackers targeted employees of government agencies or other organizations and lured them to click on a malicious link to enter login information.

The main goal of the Midnight Blizzard group, also known as The Dukes or APT 29 and linked to Russian foreign intelligence, is cyber espionage.

So be careful of suspicious messages from unknown users trying to contact you via MS Teams.

ESET experts also recommend not sending personal information, including credentials, and using a reliable solution to protect against phishing and other online threats.
