In May, operators’ revenues from provision of local telephone services in cities and rural areas shrank by 3.1% compared to April, from UAH 349.597 million to UAH 338.724 million, the statement of the State Statistics Committee reads.
Revenues of operators providing local telephony services accounted for 8.9% of the total earnings of communications branch.
In particular, in May revenues from provision of telephone services in cities fell by 3.3% compared to April, to UAH 315.879 million, and in rural areas rose by 0.1% to UAH 22.845 million.
In January-May, operators’ revenues from provision of local telephone services in cities and rural areas made up UAH 1,759.704 million.
As Ukrainian News reported, in April operators’ revenues from provision of local telephone services in cities and rural areas fell by 2.6% compared to March, from UAH 359.078 million to UAH 349.597 million.
In 2009, revenues from provision of local telephone services in cities and rural areas totaled UAH 3,893.497 million and UAH 270.546 million respectively.
