Today in China, Xiaomi has held an event where it presented a number of products under its Redmi sub-brand. These include smartphones, a laptop, a smartwatch, TWS headphones, and more. The new smartphones are part of the Redmi K70 lineup, consisting of the K70e, K70, and K70 Pro models. The trio replaced last year’s K60 devices. The K70 Pro is the top model in the latest generation of the K-series. The standard and pro versions are almost identical, except for a few differences. Let’s take a look at both smartphones below.
Specifications and features of Redmi K70, K70 Pro
Starting with the design, the Redmi K70 duo showcases a new design language with a rectangular camera island and metal frame.
As for the display, the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro feature a 6.67-inch TCL C8 OLED screen with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones have a peak brightness of 4,000 nits and high-frequency PWM brightness control of 3840 Hz. The display has a centered perforation hole. The smartphones support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. They are equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
As for the front, Redmi K70 is equipped with a triple rear camera. Both the standard and pro variants have a 50MP 1/1.55-inch primary sensor with OIS support. The K70 has an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens, while the Pro model has a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The K70 duo has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
Under the hood, Redmi K70 Pro is equipped with the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. On the other hand, the K70 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The smartphones have up to 24 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4 storage. A heat dissipation system with an area of 5000 mm2 is installed on board. Both devices are powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. In terms of software, the Redmi K70 duo comes with Android 14 operating system based on HyperOS.
Other features of the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro include a USB-C port, WiFi-7, NFC, IR Blaster, Bluetooth 5.4, and X-Axis Linear motor.
Price and availability of Redmi K70, K70 Pro
Redmi The K70 and K70 are offered in black, silver silver, bamboo moon blue and light purple (Pro only). The 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB configurations of the standard model are priced at CNY2,499 (~$352), CNY2,699 (~$381), CNY2,999 (~$423), and CNY3,399 (~$479), respectively.
The same K70 Pro 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB variants cost CNY 3,299 (~$465), CNY 3,599 (~$508), and CNY 3,899 (~$550). The top-of-the-line 24GB + 1TB configuration costs 4,399 Chinese yuan (~$621).
