This month, Realme is planning to launch the Realme 12 Pro series in several markets. The most interesting feature of the series is that the 12 Pro will be equipped with a telephoto camera, while the 12 Pro+ will be equipped with a telephoto camera with periscopic zoom. Now the company has officially confirmed that the periscopic zoom camera will appear in the 12 Pro+ version.
Details about the Realme 12 Pro series cameras
Several reports have shown that the Realme 12 Pro+ will feature a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B telescopic camera with periscope zoom, which is usually seen on smartphones costing 4,000 yuan (~$563) in China. Realme China has confirmed that the camera will feature a 3x optical zoom, 6x lossless zoom, and 120Hz digital zoom.
Realme Espana has confirmed that the Realme 12 Pro series will feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera with OIS support. Thus, it seems that the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ will feature an IMX890 main camera. Other reports have shown that both phones will have an 8-megapixel camera for ultra-wide-angle shots.
While the 12 Pro+ will have a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, the Realme 12 Pro will have a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. In terms of selfies, TENAA listings have revealed that the Pro model will have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, while the Pro+ will feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ are expected to be powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and 7s Gen 2 chipsets, respectively. Both smartphones will have a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED FHD+ display and a 5000 mAh battery. It seems that, like the Realme 11 Pro series, the 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ may receive support for fast charging with a capacity of 67W and 100W, respectively.
