Although keyboards and mice are the usual tools of choice for PC esports, some competitive gamers use gamepads for games such as fighting games and Rocket League. Razer now caters to these individuals with two new PC gamepads: the wireless Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC and the wired Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K PC. The key feature is reflected in the names: a polling rate of 8000 Hz, which provides high sensitivity for demanding professional or serious gamers.
The Wolverine V3 Pro 8K offers a polling rate of 8000 Hz in both wired and wireless modes, meaning that player inputs are recognized almost instantly. In contrast, Razer’s Wolverine V3 Pro, designed for Xbox and PC (which we liked), only reaches a maximum of 1000 Hz. The V3 Pro 8K PC model also uses magnetoresistive (TMR) joysticks with replaceable caps for long life, consistent tension, and excellent resistance to drift over time.
This model is also Razer’s lightest wireless esports controller and features an ergonomic design that reduces hand fatigue. Other features include 4 mouse back buttons and 2 grip bumpers, Razer Pro HyperTriggers, mechanical-tactile PBT Action buttons, an 8-way floating D-Pad, and Razer Synapse customization. It comes with a carrying case and a 2-meter braided cable and is now available for $200.
Razer has also released a wired model called the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition PC. It has almost all the same features as the previous model, such as HyperPolling 8000 Hz technology, anti-drift TMR joysticks, HyperTriggers, mechanical-tactile PBT buttons, and Synapse customization. It also comes with a 2-meter braided cable and is currently available for $120 — a very reasonable price for a competition-grade gamepad.
