OPPO has recently presented its new Reno series smartphones, which are distinguished by their sleek design. The more powerful Reno10 Pro 5G model was tested by us and left only positive impressions.
The Oppo Reno10 Pro is a powerful and feature-rich smartphone that offers excellent image quality, long battery life, and stylish design. It is ideal for users who are looking for a flagship smartphone with all the features they can get.
First of all, it features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which provides a great image and smooth operation. The smartphone also charges very quickly thanks to SUPERVOOC ultra-fast charging with 80W of power and holds a good charge thanks to the proprietary SUPERVOOC S power management chip.
Now let’s get to the point.
Unboxing
The charming box it comes in matches the smartphone. The holographic background on the front and one side surface, which shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow, immediately catches the eye. It has large black numbers “1” and “0”, i.e. the model number 10, and the full name OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is printed on top. This is how the company named its model, that is, “5G” in the form of an upper index.
The name also contains a description of the model, Silvery Gray color, IMEI1 and IMEI2, serial number, and manufacturer’s address on the second side surface, and on the third. Service information is also on the bottom surface of the box. There is also a protective sticker. If it is damaged, we recommend that you do not purchase the product.
Package contents
On top of the box we see an envelope with documentation and a pin to open the nano SIM slot. Under the envelope is the smartphone itself, and under it is a powerful charger and USB cable. There’s even a screen protector. Everything is well thought out and compact.

Design and ergonomics
The design of OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is striking at first sight. The back surface is silver-gray and shimmers with light from different angles. It’s a durable plastic with a dotted coating that makes stains and scratches invisible.
A metal frame runs along the perimeter of the case, which not only complements the design impression but also strengthens the case. At the same time, the phone feels thin and holds well in the hand.
And most importantly, the display has curved edges that smoothly disappear under the metal frame, which thus remains invisible when viewed from above. The bezel is rounded at the corners, which creates an additional premium effect.
On the back there is a large island of the main camera, which has three sensors. And here it is not entirely clear how best to put the phone. If the screen is down, then it’s not good for the display. If the screen is up, then the smartphone will rest on the camera island. And it seems that they can scratch themselves in this way. Therefore, we recommend buying a stand or putting the phone on a soft surface.
Location of the controls
The controls for the smartphone are located only on the right, bottom and top edges. The manufacturer decided not to place anything on the left.
So, on the right there is a volume rocker key and a power button. The latter is additionally marked with a thin green line.
Below are a slot for two nano Sim cards, a microphone hole, a USB-C port and speaker holes.
Another noise-canceling microphone hole and an infrared port are located on the top end.
And here is the open tray for Sim cards with a pin. Cards are inserted from the top and bottom. There is no space for an additional memory card.
Vivid AMOLED
OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G has a very bright 6.7-inch AMOLED display. Its resolution is FullHD+ (2412×1080), which gives 394 ppi. The aspect ratio is 20:9, and the screen-to-body ratio is 93%.
The display has a 10-bit color gamut, which gives an incredible 1.07 billion colors, it has a brightness of up to 950 nits and supports HDR10+. The refresh rate is 120 Hz. The screen refresh is extremely smooth.
The display is protected by AGC Dragontrail Star 2 glass, which, according to the manufacturer, has 20% better drop resistance than Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Just one speaker
When it comes to sound reproduction, having only one speaker doesn’t help improve the quality and reduces the experience when watching videos and playing games.
But through regular and Bluetooth headphones, the sound quality is excellent. The same goes for phone calls. The noise reduction is good, and the person you’re talking to seems to be right next to you.
Hardware and games
OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is not powered by some flagship processor, such as the Snapdragon 8 gen 2, but by the 8-core Snapdragon 778G 5G. That is, it is not the most powerful, but a decent processor with 8 cores:
- one Kryo 670 Prime (Cortex-A78) core at 2400 MHz,
- three Kryo 670 Gold (Cortex-A78) at 2200 MHz,
- four Kryo 670 Silver (Cortex-A55) cores at 1900 MHz.
The chipset has an Adreno 642L GPU and 12 GB of LPDDR4X 2133 MHz RAM. With MemoryBoost technology, the memory can be expanded by adding virtual RAM.
The storage capacity of OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is 256 GB with UFS 2.2 technology without the possibility of expansion. As we mentioned earlier, the phone does not have a memory card slot. However, it supports connecting external devices to the USB Type-C 2.0 port in USB OTG mode.
The smartphone does not demonstrate the highest results in the tests.
However, you can play various 3D games comfortably. By the way, the phone already has three quite interesting and spectacular games pre-installed, which are launched through the “Games” icon. You can set a special game mode, use the game toolbar, and record game statistics with pictures of battle moments.
Security
Traditionally, a smartphone has different types of screen unlocking: a password, face identification, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Everything works quickly and without problems.
Fast charging and battery life
OPPO Reno10 Pro has a powerful 4600 mAh battery and SUPERVOOC S power management chip. Therefore, it can easily hold a charge with an average load for two days. At the same time, I watched a couple of hours of video, sometimes listened to music and played games, took some pictures with the camera, made and answered calls, and constantly used instant messengers and email.
The smartphone comes with 80W SUPERVOOCTM fast charging, which allows you to charge to 100% in just over 25 minutes. In 16 minutes, the phone charges up to 70%, which is enough for active use throughout the day afterwards.
Color OS 13.1
Color OS 13.1 is a powerful and functional user interface based on Android 13. It offers users a wide range of features and capabilities:
- A special program to optimize games with a competition mode.
- Improvements in security and privacy, including enhanced permission control.
- A beautiful interface from an aesthetic point of view (and not at all excessive), and rich in terms of content.
- Many customization options, such as a convenient sidebar that can be moved around the screen, split screen, and quick shortcuts.
- Support for Multi-Screen Connect, which allows you to quickly connect Reno10 Pro 5G to other devices such as a PC or tablet.
- Support for Smart AOD, which allows you to control Spotify and food delivery apps without having to unlock your smartphone.
- 2 Android updates and 4 years of security patches.
Great shooting experience
The smartphone has good main and front cameras. Its main camera consists of three sensors. These are the Sony IMX890 main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 50-megapixel OIS, the wide-angle 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 f/2.2 sensor, and the 32-megapixel f/2.0 telephoto sensor for 2x zoom with a focal length of 47 mm, specially designed for portrait photography.
The front panel has a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone has a nice Camera app with a variety of settings and shooting modes. Photos and videos are good in any conditions.
There is a special night mode that allows you to take good photos even in complete darkness.
Even at 10x magnification, pixelation is almost imperceptible.
The smartphone has OIS and PDAF autofocus systems, which provides increased stability and corrects minor shake. This can be seen in the test video, which was shot handheld without a tripod while sailing on a catamaran:
Pros and cons
OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G impresses primarily with its beautiful design and ease of use. Of course, the screen with curved edges makes an impression. The phone’s cameras also work well in different conditions, and the shake effect is removed when shooting video. Its battery life and fast charging are impressive.
The smartphone also has a user-friendly Color OS 13.1 interface, which should soon be updated to version 14 with Android 14.
Still, there are some minor drawbacks. For example, due to the fact that the main camera unit protrudes above the body, the smartphone is placed on them or on the screen. Another disadvantage is the lack of a second speaker, which does not allow you to get stereo sound when playing games and watching videos without headphones or an external speaker.
The price of OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G starts from 560 USD.
