In October, the number of subscribers of the Kyivstar mobile communication operator went up by 0.2% or 0.05 million to 22.64 million people.
This is reported in a statement of the company, a text of which Ukrainian News has obtained.
The number of subscribers rose by 2.1% or 0.47 million people compared to October 2009.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in September the number of subscribers of the Kyivstar mobile communication operator upped by 0.7% to 22.59 million people.
Kyivstar reported a profit of NOK 5.1 billion for the year 2009, when its net revenues fell by NOK 4.787 billion or 34.6% to NOK 9.047 billion compared with 2008.
On April 21, the Telenor telecommunications company (Norway) and the Altimo company (Russia) announced the completion of the merger of VimpelCom mobile telecommunications operator (Russia) and the Kyivstar mobile communication operator. Consequently, Kyivstar’s shares were automatically transferred to the newly created VimpelCom Ltd.
According to the «TOP 100. Ukrainian Business Leaders» magazine, Kyivstar was the leader in the rating of Communications and Telecommunications in terms of net revenue (UAH 12.8 billion) and net profit (UAH 5.56 billion) in 2008.
