In April-June, the number of cable television subscribers fell by 2.5% or 86,580 subscribers, compared to the first quarter of 2010, to 3,425,952 subscribers.
This was announced in a State Statistics Committee report, a copy of which Ukrainian News has obtained.
Of this number, 3,413,150 subscribers or 96.8% were household subscribers.
16.3% of the total number or 557,404 subscribers were registered in Kyiv. The number of subscribers in Dnipropetrovsk region comprised 441,139 or 12.6% of their total number; in Donetsk region, the number of subscribers comprised 320,593 or 9.4% of the total number.
Chernivtsi region had the smallest cable television audience — 23,974 subscribers or 0.7% of their total number.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in January-March the number of cable television subscribers rose by 1% or 33,861 subscribers compared to the fourth quarter of 2009, to 3,512,532 subscribers.
In 2009, the number of cable television subscribers fell by 0.2% or 7,000 subscribers to 3.479 million subscribers as compared with 2008.
