Nothing Phone 3 may have the strangest camera design ever

Earlier this month, an image of what was rumored to be the Nothing Phone 3 was leaked. That image showed a design with a translucent back panel and three cameras centered on the front. But a new series of images of the alleged Nothing Phone 3 shows a different design – with one of the strangest camera arrangements we’ve ever seen.

The renders from Android Headlines show a phone with a translucent back panel, but with three cameras arranged in a strange way. Instead of a neat triangle like on the iPhone Pro or the camera panel on the Pixels, these renders show two cameras lined up next to each other and another that is in the corner of the phone and not aligned with anything else. It’s similar to the bold camera setup of the Nothing 3A Pro, but even bolder.

Details from teasers directly from Nothing indicate that these renders may be representative of the actual device. Yesterday, for example, Nothing posted an image of the Phone 3’s 50-megapixel periscope lens on the X, and its placement and design seem to match one of the cameras in the renders from Android Headlines. There’s also nothing to hint at what’s being called a “glyph sensor” on the top right corner of the phone, and Android Headlines’ renders have an element that looks like it could be a glyph sensor in the same spot.

We don’t have long to wait to see if these renders are an early look at the phone’s design. There is nothing to indicate that the Phone 3 – and the translucent Headphone 1 in-ear headphones – will be fully unveiled on July 1.
