New Google Pixel phones will appear on August 20

Fasten your seat belts! Google is throwing a party next month. Last week, Samsung announced its new Galaxy Z Fold 7 (read my review here), Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 and 8 Classic, and Google will be next, before Apple likely holds its annual iPhone and Apple Watch event in September.

Google has just announced an event for August 20, where it will “unveil the latest addition to our Pixel portfolio of devices.” What is Google hinting at? It probably can’t be the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, which were already leaked a few months ago. It is also very likely that we will see the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Google also usually uses its events to announce accessories for the Pixel, such as the Pixel Watch 3 at last year’s summer event or the Pixel Buds 2 Pro wireless headphones at the previous one.

One thing you can definitely bet Google will spend plenty of time on is artificial intelligence, specifically Gemini AI. Google spent almost the entirety of its May I/O developer conference talking about the benefits and improvements to its AI models and chatbots. AI is going to change the way you use your phone – certainly for real this time… maybe. And Gemini will be at the forefront of it all.
