The mobile operator MTS Ukraine completed building a fiber-optic network between the Transcarpathian and Donetsk regional hospitals and the Ministry of Healthcare in December in frames of the Televised Medicine social project.
They are now conducting performance testing of the built network, Ukranews says. Technical solution for providing dedicated internet access line is built on the VPN base (Virtual Private Network). The televised-medicine project is a conference-line network connecting the ministry, city and district hospitals with help of which doctors and patients can get consultations for the questions they are bothered with.
Televised-medicine posts will be opened in mid-January. MTS invested UAH 1 million in the pilot stage of the project.
The health ministry, the United Nations Organization’s representative office and MTS on October 1 agreed upon introduction of a televised medicine system.
