Microsoft announces Surface Laptop 5G for business

Microsoft has introduced a new Surface Laptop 5G laptop as part of its collection of computers for business customers. The company said that the 5G option has been in the works for its business line since January, when it introduced other updates to the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop for Business, and this sought-after feature aims to make the laptop both portable and connected. Thanks to a system of six internal antennas, the Surface 5G will be able to seamlessly switch between Wi-Fi and cellular networks, as well as act as a mobile hotspot for other devices.

In terms of additional specifications, Surface 5G is a 13.8-inch device powered by Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors. It promises a neural processor with more than 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS), which is a prerequisite for participation in Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC program. Pricing information has not been disclosed at this stage, but Surface Laptop 5G will begin shipping on August 26.
