Lenovo recently introduced the ThinkPad Z series of laptops in China, which includes the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 and ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 models. These laptops were first introduced at MWC 2023 and are now available for purchase in the Chinese market.
Technical specifications and prices
The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 starts at RMB 10,999 (USD 1,538) and features an AMD R7 Pro 7840U processor for high-performance computing. It is impressively lightweight (1.24 kg) and thin (13.99 mm), emphasizing portability without sacrificing performance.
As for the display, the Z13 features a 13-inch 2.8K OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800. This high-quality display supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 400 nits of brightness, and 10-point touch control.
As for the ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2, its price is higher – 14,999 yuan ($2,098). This model is equipped with an AMD R7 Pro 7840HS processor combined with a special RX 6550M graphics card. It is slightly heavier and bulkier than the Z13, weighing 1.84 kg with a thickness of 15.8 mm, but offers a more powerful set of features for users who need more power and a larger screen.
The Z16 features a larger 16-inch WQUXGA 4K OLED panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels. Like the Z13, it also supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 400 nits of brightness, as well as 10-point touch control.
Both laptops are equipped with 32GB LPDDR5X-6400 memory and a 1TB SSD for fast and efficient storage and multitasking. The Z13 model has two USB4 ports and an audio interface, while the Z16 model has an additional USB-C port and an SD card slot.
Both laptops prioritize security with face recognition and fingerprint scanning. In addition, both laptops use environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes, making them an environmentally responsible choice.
Both models also enhance the video conferencing experience with FHD infrared cameras and AI-powered audio for crisp, clear audio during online meetings. They also comply with U.S. Department of Defense MIL-STD 810H standards to ensure durability and reliability in harsh environments.
