Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is thinner and sleeker than we expected, according to leaked hands-on photos. The images, posted by leaker @Jukanlosreve, appear to show what the next-generation Galaxy foldable will look like.
The new photos largely match what we’ve seen in previous renders, including a larger and thinner body that’s reportedly around 4.5mm thick when unfolded. That’s thinner than its 5.6mm predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and puts it in a better position to compete with some of the thinnest foldables on the market from rivals like Google and Oppo. We won’t know its official dimensions until next week’s reveal, but considering the SIM tray takes up all of the available vertical space, it looks very slim indeed. The speakers and microphone are also visible along the bottom edge of the device.

The updated camera array on the back is different from the one featured on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, replacing the massive black rings around the camera lenses with thin silver ones. This contrasts nicely with the bright blue color, which could be the “Blue Shadow” color mentioned in previous leaks.
We also have some new specs for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 thanks to an EU smartphone label spotted by MysteryLupin, which indicates that the device has the same battery life as its predecessor, expected to last up to 40 hours and 28 minutes on a single battery charge. The phone is reportedly IP48 rated, meaning it can be submerged underwater for short periods of time, but it’s still susceptible to small dust particles (like many other foldable devices).
We hope to learn more at Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 9, where the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be unveiled alongside the newer Z Flip 7. The event could also see the unveiling of a new triple-fold Galaxy phone to join Samsung’s foldable lineup.
